It could be safety or efficiency concerns with your current ride, a significant change in your lifestyle, or the simple desire to upgrade your set of wheels. With plenty of factors to weigh up, here are some of the key reasons the time is right for you to look for a new car. ## Why It’s Time to Consider a New Car ### 1. You want to save money - Your car is a money pit and the repairs on your current car are now costing more than it’s worth. Every time you go to pay a bill for the mechanic, you start wondering if the upkeep costs are really worth it. A new car in better condition isn’t going to require as much in maintenance costs. - Your car is in need of a major, expensive repair, and you’re unsure about whether or not to sink a large amount of money into fixing it. You might be considering whether that money is better spent towards a new vehicle. A brand new car will likely come with a manufacturer’s warranty to protect against the cost of major repairs. - You’re spending more at the fuel pump than you should be, because the older the car, the less fuel efficient it’s likely to be. Newer cars are more economical as they have the latest engine technology and with the introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles, there are cost savings to be had. ### 2. You want a safer car - Your car is breaking down often or it won’t start, which is becoming a source of anxiety when you have commitments and places to be. New cars are more reliable and provide you with assurance that you’ll get where you need to be on time and in one piece. - You don’t feel as safe, and don’t want to compromise your safety. Newer cars tend to have higher ANCAP safety ratings due to their effective mix of stronger materials, strategically placed crush-zones and latest passive and active safety features, so should a collision happen, the effects will likely be minimised for you and your passengers. - When you’re driving, being nervous about the safety of your car is impacting your confidence and adding unnecessary stress to your life. A new car equipped with the latest safety avoidance technology, can make you feel a lot safer behind the wheel. ### 3. You want something different from your car - Perhaps tape is holding your car together or the interior is crumbling and your friends and family are offering to use their cars instead! A new car not only looks nice but makes you proud to own one and your passengers happy to be in one. - You’ve recently been through a major life change, such as having children or retiring, and now you need something larger or smaller to your current car.
