I’m retired and live in Epsom, Auckland.
Is this your first new car?
No, this is my second new Suzuki Swift Sport, loved the first one, so it was a no brainer when it was time to change my ‘not a Suzuki Swift Sport’ to go back to what I had loved. And this new model is very comfortable, the seats are not so hard! And as for the colour - I just love it!
Why did you choose Suzuki over other brands?
I did have a brief look at others, but I had pretty much already made up my mind.
What do you love about your Suzuki?
The fuel economy is a biggy. It’s zippy, the keyless entry and start, it's very easy to get in and out of. The colour - did I already mention my beautiful Burning Red?
It’s just a bit different to many other brands out there - it’s got pizzazz (and the definition of pizzazz - the quality of noticeable and energetic excitement) and it stands out in a car park (yes, that lovely red again) against the many grey/silver/white cars.
How would you describe your Suzuki to a friend?
A car which is ideal, small enough and comfortable for someone a little older getting in and out of, but also has plenty of room at same time and still has that zippy touch.
Why was your Suzuki the right fit?
It fitted my budget and I already knew how much I liked them.
How has owning your Suzuki made a difference in your life?
It is much easier to zip into my ‘awkward’ carpark than my previous car.
I also enjoy my car being admired!
Describe the experience you had buying the car?
As I had pretty much made my decision before going to Suzuki Winger Greenlane, I must have made my lovely salesman’s life easy. I walked in, and there was ‘my car’ sitting in the showroom in its glorious red, I took a quick look at the other colours, but it was a no, it had to be the red. I was hooked.
I had a short test drive with the salesman, to see how nicely the car would back into my park, there and then I signed on the dotted line, and haven’t looked back.
How do I use the car day to day?
I don’t do huge kms, so on resale this is going to be a gem for someone else to love. I do volunteer at Auckland Hospital, and my Swift makes it easy to negotiate the twists and curves of that car park!
What advice would you give to someone looking to buy a car?
I’m not mechanically knowledgeable, so find a salesperson who answers your questions, and doesn’t try to fob you off, then go with your gut feeling. I felt completely comfortable with the info I was given, but ask around - people are usually honest and helpful.
