The Suzuki Swift is a reliable and economical small car that Kiwis just love. We wanted to get the inside scoop on exactly what owning a Suzuki Swift Sport is like, so we got in touch with Christchurch owner, Samara Herbert. She shares her recent buying experience and what she's loving about her brand new car.
I live in Christchurch and I work in retail.
This is the second Suzuki I’ve bought - but the first brand new one.
The first words that come to mind are ‘very zippy’! It’s quite fast, and I really love the colour.
It’s a nice upgrade from my last model with a good safety rating, so that’s what really appealed to me.
It’s certainly a car I’ll have for years to come. I knew what I wanted from the get-go so I’m really pleased.
On the weekdays it’s a half hour drive to and from work, and on the weekends I pretty much just drive around from A-to-B.
Not too many long trips, mostly around town but I will be doing some road trips at Christmas which will be a nice test for my new car!
Definitely the petrol! I’ve noticed it’s a lot cheaper to fuel compared to the last model I had and it’s nice and smooth on the road. The reversing camera helps too!
I’ve always liked Suzuki as a brand. I’ve had other makes in the past but I’ve always gone back to Suzuki because they have a great name and an even better reputation.
You see them on the road all the time which is a good sign that they’re reliable.
I bought it from Hollands Suzuki in Christchurch. The staff were great, they sat in the car and took me through everything so I knew how to use it all. I took the car for a test drive with my Dad which they were totally fine with as well.
Not yet no, but my friend has said we should definitely come up with one.
Straight home from work probably!
Ask questions, you know, definitely shop around and make sure you test drive lots of different cars - it’s the only way to find out what you like.
