A pleasure to own. That's how Judith and John from Paeroa describe their Suzuki Vitara. They have found it to be the perfect travel wagon with great fuel economy and power on the open road, and say they aren't looking to change any time soon. Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I live with my husband John in Paeroa. We shifted here from Auckland in 1985 and love it here. We are nearing retirement and work at our local primary school. This is part time and I am privileged to assist the Enviro Class within the school.
Is this your first new car?
I have had two new Suzuki Vitaras since 2016. The first was the newly released sport model in red and our recent Vitara is black. The Vitara replaced an earlier Suzuki Swift.
Why did you choose Suzuki over other brands?
The decision to change was influenced by Paeroa having a Suzuki franchise. We always 'spotted' the newer models being prominently displayed within the yard that neighbours State Highway 2.
Once we experienced the Vitara model, it satisfied all our private and business needs.
What do you love about your Suzuki?
In total, I have now done approximately 80,000km over the two Vitara's without any problems and both with exceptional fuel consumption figures.
The Vitara being slightly bigger than the Swift, is both higher and wider giving a more secure driving value especially with lots of trucks on the roads.
Both Vitara's we have had have been the 1400cc turbo model which results in the great fuel values but also allows speed when necessary. It's excellent for quick passing.
How would you describe your Suzuki to a friend?
It's easy to recommend the Vitara especially when having the super backup from Whyteline Suzuki, our local Suzuki dealer. The whole Suzuki experience makes it easy to recommend the vehicles to our friends and Suzuki has a great range from small to large vehicles.
Why was your Suzuki Vitara the right fit?
The Vitara excels in all aspects. As part of the purchase of our black Vitara we requested the Duraseal finish to the exterior paintwork and interior seating. This assists with the cleaning of the car which always looks great.
How has owning your Vitara made a difference in your life?
I have a sister in Whakatane which is around two hours from Paeroa. The Vitara allows me to make a visit by myself to her, and I always feel secure and safe whilst driving. The fuel consumption is great as I hardly use more than half a tank while driving there.
Describe the experience you had buying your car?
As past clients of Whyteline, the decision for the change was easy as we had Mark W (Owner) and Mark R (Sales Manager) assisting us which made the change over a pleasant experience.
How do you use the car day to day?
I guess there is no such thing that happens on a daily basis. We travel to Hamilton on numerous occasions for relaxation, shopping or to pick up items for our two businesses. Hamilton is only 45 minutes away so the road has seen the Vitara quite a bit.
When you next buy a new vehicle, how likely is it to be a Suzuki?
We anticipate a good three years of use to go before that decision is made. Retirement might demand a change. We wait with anticipation!
What's some advice you would give to someone looking to buy a car?
It's very important to buy a vehicle that will last a good mileage, but be cost effective and economic to service and run. I have to admit that our Suzuki has been a pleasure to own!
