A surprise gift from her husband, Maureen's Suzuki Ignis has become something she raves about. It's practical, reliable and comfortable for a long journey. NanniM is ready for more road trips, so let's read on to see why Maureen has been fortunate to have her Ignis in her life.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I have lived in Blenheim since 2009, previously living in the UK for 14 years. I work part time as an Administrator and will be retiring from the job early next year. I'm looking forward to having time to do my hobbies, scrapbooking, sewing, reading and travelling. I am married to Paul and next year we will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary.
Is this your first new car?
This is my second new car. The first was a Vauxhall Vectra stationwagon purchased in 2006 when living in the UK. When we decided to return to New Zealand we put the car in a container along with our furniture and possessions.
Why did you choose Suzuki over other brands?
My husband purchased the Ignis as a surprise for me. Previously I had a Suzuki Wagon R which was perfect for getting in and out of due to my back condition. He researched thoroughly and came up with the Ignis as the next best option for ease of getting in and out.
What do you love about your Suzuki?
I love the ease of getting in and out of the vehicle, the fuel economy and it's great for parking in small spaces. The hands free phone, cruise control and navigation are all amazing, and the back seats have loads of leg room which is surprising for a small car. It is also comfortable on longer trips - she has been to the North Island and as far south as Bluff. There are many more road trips to come!
How would you describe your Suzuki to a friend?
My friends just love my Ignis and have considered getting one too. I just rave about it because it is a super little car.
Why was your Suzuki Ignis the right fit?
It was right for me because of my medical condition. I have recently had back surgery and I can get in and out of the passenger front seat with ease.
How has owning your Ignis made a difference in your life?
The car is reliable and fuel efficient. You know that it will start no problem on a frosty morning and get you to where you need to be.
Have you got a nickname for your Suzuki and why?
My husband also got me a personalised plate – NanniM - which is what my granddaughter calls me so my Ignis is NanniM.
How do you use the car day to day?
I use it to go to and from work, pick up groceries and visit friends.
